PSUs under disinvestment and current status:
- PUNJAB COMMUNICATIONS LTD (PUNCOM): As per decision of the Cabinet Committee on Disinvestment, disinvestment process has been restarted. EOIs for the appointment of Global Advisor were invited on 9.9.05. Only one EOI was received. It has, therefore, been decided to invite fresh EOIs for the appointment of Global Advisors.
- PUNJAB ALKALIES & CHEMICALS (PACL): As per decision of the Cabinet Committee on Disinvestment, the process of disinvestment in PACL has been started and M/S IFCI Ltd., New Delhi have been appointed as Global Advisors.
- PUNJAB AGRO JUICES LTD (PAJL): As per decision of the Cabinet Committee on Disinvestment, the process of disinvestment in PAJL has been started and M/S Deloitte Touche Tohmastu India Pvt. Ltd, Gurgaon have been appointed as Global Advisors.
- THE PUNJAB STATE FEDERATION OF COOPERATIVE SUGAR MILLS (SUGARFED): It has been decided to disinvest/liquidate the Cooperative Sugar Mills in a phased manner. EOIs were invited for the appointment of Global Advisor. A meeting of Inter-Departmental Committee was held on 25.11.05 for the appointment of Global Advisors. However, no party pre-qualified. It has been decided to re-invite the EOIs for the appointment of Global Advisor as and when fresh proposal for disinvestment of Sugar Mills will be received from Department of Cooperation.
- THE PUNJAB STATE CONTAINER & WAREHOUSING CORPORATION (CONWARE): CCD has deferred the disinvestment for the time being. Now the process for leasing out the CONWARE is under consideration.
- PUNJAB TOURISM DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (PTDC): Financial bids of Holiday Home Scheme & Tourist Complex Neelon accepted. Tourist Complex at Neelon stands transferred to the successful bidder.
- New Transaction structure for disposing off the remaining properties has been approved.
- Seven properties namely, Tourist Complexes at Pathankot, Shambhu, Moga, Madhopur, Sanghol, Kapurthala and Jalandhar have been disposed off and stands transferred to the successful bidders.
- The properties at Amritsar and Hoshiarpur have also been transferred to the successful bidders.
- The disposing of units at Ropar, Nidampur, and Malout is under process. However, the unit at Faridkot shall be disinvested as and when it will be vacated by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.
- It has been decided not to disinvest Tourist Complex at Wagha, Kartarpur and Aam Khas Bagh, Sirhind.
- Hotel Amaltas & Tourist Oasis, Ludhiana, Blue Bell Phagwara, Water Lily (Fast Food) Ropar and F.R. Sirhind cannot be disinvested as these property are of Forest/Irrigation Department.
- Tentatively, disinvestment in PTDC shall be over by March, 2007.
- WINDING UP OF CLOSED UNITS: The winding up of the PUNTEX, LEATHERA, HOSIERY & KNITWEAR, Punjab Film & News Corporation and Punjab Poultry Development Corporation is in progress.
- THE PUNJAB STATE COOPERATIVE SPINNING MILLS FEDERATION (SPINFED): Winding up decision was taken on 30.4.2003. VRS has been given to all Head Office employees of SPINFED. Out of the 5 remaining Coop. Miils at Bathinda, Abohar, Goindwal, Kotkapura and Tappa, mills at Kotkapura, Tappa and Goindwal have been finally disposed off. Plant and machinery of Bathinda and Abohar Coop. Spg. Mills has been disposed off but the land is yet to be disposed off.
- Electronic System Punjab Ltd. (ESPL): A subsidiary of PSIDC was set up in 1980 for developing and supplying mini/micro computer system and other peripheral systems etc. Cabinet Committee on Disinvestment has approved the liquidation of ESPL on 4.2.2004. Further action is under consideration.
- Punjab Recorders Ltd. (PRL): A subsidiary of PICTCL was established in 1977 under Companies Act with the objective of manufacturing products for the use of Defence (Tank parts). Cabinet Committee on Disinvestment has approved the disinvestment in PRL on 4.2.2004. Further action is under consideration.
